The Prodigy Verdict
Reborn, Not Just Refurbished.
Celebrity Millennium was the subject of a massive "Revolution" overhaul in 2019. This wasn't just new carpet; staterooms were redesigned by Kelly Hoppen, the Retreat was added for suite guests, and the decor was aligned with the modern *Edge* class. While she lacks the sheer scale of the newer ships, she compensates with intimacy and the ability to dock where mega-ships cannot.
- Exotic itineraries (Japan, SE Asia, Alaska)
- Guests who find 4,000-passenger ships overwhelming
- Traditionalists who love a forward-facing observation lounge
- She is an older hull (2000), so expect some creaks in heavy seas.
- Fewer specialty dining options than Edge/Solstice class.
- Cabins are slightly smaller on average than newer ships.
The Zones
Millennium's layout is classic and easy to navigate, with a focus on outward-facing views.
Rooftop Terrace
A chic hangout added to the aft deck. Features modular furniture and a large screen for "Taste of Film" events and movies under the stars.
Cosmos Lounge
The massive forward observation lounge. Floor-to-ceiling windows make this the ultimate spot for viewing glaciers or approaching port.
Solarium
Adults-only indoor pool area. Famous for its massive **Thalassotherapy Pool**, which uses mineral-rich saltwater jets to relax muscles.
Martini Bar
The classic frosted bar. Even on this smaller ship, the bartenders deliver the high-energy flair show Celebrity is known for.
The Retreat
Added during the 2019 Revolution. Suite guests get a private sundeck, a dedicated lounge, and the Luminae restaurant.
CafΓ© al Bacio
The European-style coffee house. While the lattes cost extra, the pastries and desserts in the case are free and delicious.
Fortunes Casino
A classic casino layout. Itβs smoke-free (like all Celebrity interiors), which is a major plus for many players.
Sunset Bar
Located on Deck 10 Aft. Itβs smaller than on Edge class but offers classic wake views and a more traditional nautical vibe.
Dining & Provisions
You don't need to pay extra to eat well here. The included options are excellent, with specialty venues for special occasions.
Metropolitan
Main Dining
The grand, two-level main dining room. Revamped in 2019 with a modern, airy look. Serves global cuisine with "Celebrity Classics" always available.
Oceanview CafΓ©
The Buffet
Excellent variety with live cooking stations. The aft seating area is one of the best spots on the ship for a quiet breakfast with a view.
Mast Grill
Poolside Eats
Located above the pool deck. Serves complimentary burgers, hot dogs, and fries. Perfect for a quick lunch without changing out of swimwear.
Spa CafΓ©
Healthy Bites
Located in the Solarium. Offers fresh fruit, smoothies (extra), and light salads. A hidden gem for a quiet, healthy breakfast or lunch.
Tuscan Grille
Italian Steakhouse
The ship's premier specialty restaurant located aft with wake views. Features dry-aged steaks, homemade pastas, and a robust wine list.
Sushi on Five
Japanese
A la carte pricing. Serves fresh sashimi, sushi rolls, and hot Japanese dishes like ramen. Great for a light dinner or a shared appetizer.
Le Petit Chef
Immersive Dining
An animated 3D chef prepares your meal on your plate before the real food arrives. A fun, whimsical experience that is great for families.
Luminae
Private Dining
Exclusive to Suite guests. The menu is unique to this venue and changes daily. It offers a much quieter, more personalized service than the MDR.
Where It Sails
Millennium is an explorer ship, often found in Asia and the Caribbean.
- Japan & South Korea (Best of Japan)
- Caribbean (Seasonal)
Because she is smaller than the Edge/Solstice ships, Millennium can dock closer to cities and navigate tighter waterways, making her ideal for Asia.

Cost Reality
Older hull means lower base fares, but demand for Japan routes keeps prices premium.
- Metropolitan Dining (MDR)
- Oceanview Cafe (Buffet)
- Solarium Access (Adults)
- Basic Beverages (Water/Tea/Coffee)
- Specialty Dining (Tuscan, Sushi)
- Persian Garden Pass (unless AquaClass)
- Alcohol (unless in "All Included" rate)
- Shore Excursions
**Secret Value:** On Millennium Class ships, the massive Thalassotherapy Pool in the Solarium is generally complimentary for all adults. On newer ships, you have to pay for a thermal suite pass to get this kind of amenity.
The Vibe Check
Intimate and refined. The "Revolution" update removed the dark woods and heavy drapes, replacing them with the airy greys and taupes of the Edge class.
Quiet confidence. There are no water slides or go-karts. The focus is on the destination, good food, and relaxation.
Skewing slightly older (50+) due to longer, destination-heavy itineraries. However, summer and holiday sailings attract families.
