The Prodigy Verdict
The Hybrid Sovereign.
The Majestic Princess is a fascinating outlier in the fleet. Originally built for the Chinese market, it retains unique features that set it apart from its Royal Class sisters (Regal, Royal). Most notably, it features "Harmony," a high-end Cantonese restaurant, and the "Hollywood Conservatory," a climate-controlled indoor pool deck that replaces the adults-only Sanctuary found on other ships. Fresh from its 2025 drydock refurbishment, the ship feels modern and crisp. It is an excellent choice for cold-weather cruising (Alaska) thanks to its enclosed pool areas, but retains plenty of open deck space for sunny itineraries.
- Alaskan or Northern European cruisers who want an indoor pool.
- Foodies wanting to try the only Cantonese specialty venue in the fleet.
- Value seekers: The Hollywood Conservatory offers a Sanctuary-like vibe for free.
- No Sanctuary: If you love the paid, adults-only Sanctuary on other ships, it doesn't exist here.
- Casino: The casino is slightly smaller than on sister ships to accommodate other venues.
- Crooners: The bar layout is different, which can be disorienting for Princess loyalists.
The Zones
Majestic Princess features the signature Royal Class "Piazza" and "SeaWalk," but swaps the top deck layout for better climate control.
Hollywood Conservatory
The defining feature. A glass-enclosed "garden" at the front of the ship with a pool, bar, and musical instruments. It is open to all adults for free.
The Piazza
The three-story gold-and-marble atrium. It is the social hub of the ship, hosting ballroom dancing, live bands, and the balloon drop parties.
The SeaWalk
A curved glass walkway that extends 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship. Looking down 128 feet to the ocean is a thrill (or terrifying).
Movies Under the Stars
The pool deck features a massive LED screen. At night, loungers are covered with fleece blankets and popcorn is served for open-air cinema.
Princess Theater
The main showroom. Features high-production musical revues and guest entertainers. The sightlines are generally excellent.
Sports Central
Located aft. Includes a basketball court, table tennis, and a laser shooting range. A good spot for active teens.
Dining & Provisions
Majestic Princess excels in specialty dining. Harmony is unique to this ship, and the complimentary options are solid.
Harmony
Cantonese Specialty
Created by Chef Richard Chen. Features upscale Cantonese dishes like duck salad and pork belly. A rare find on a Western cruise line.
The Catch by Rudi
Seafood
A seafood-focused venue replacing the former French bistro. Known for its "Salt & Pepper" fried calamari and whole grilled fish.
Chopsticks
Noodle Bar
Located on the pool deck. Serves complimentary noodle soups and wok-fried dishes. A fantastic, lighter alternative to burgers.
Crown Grill
Steakhouse
The Princess classic. Dark wood, theater-style kitchen, and premium beef. The ribeye and onion soup are consistently excellent.
International CafΓ©
24-Hour Bistro
The best spot for a quick bite. Croissants in the morning, salads and paninis at lunch, and cookies at 2 AM. All free.
Alfredo's Pizzeria
Sit-Down Pizza
Sit-down service with individual pizzas. *Note: Complimentary with Plus/Premier packages, or a fixed cover charge otherwise.
Main Dining
3 Venues
Symphony, Allegro, and Concerto dining rooms. They serve the same menu but offer traditional fixed seating or flexible "Dine My Way" options.
World Fresh Marketplace
Buffet
The massive buffet deck. Features "East Meets West" stations with more Asian cuisine options than typical Princess ships.
Where It Sails
Majestic Princess is a globetrotter, often found in Alaska during the summer and Australia/New Zealand or the South Pacific in the winter.
- 7-Day Inside Passage (Alaska)
- Australia & New Zealand
- South Pacific & Fiji
The ship's enclosed pool area makes it a favorite for Alaska. In Australia, the Cantonese dining options resonate well with the local demographic.

Cost Reality
The "Princess Premier" package is often the best value, but the ship offers plenty for free, including the Hollywood Conservatory.
- Main Dining & Buffet
- Hollywood Conservatory
- Chopsticks Noodle Bar
- International CafΓ© (Food)
- Harmony & Crown Grill
- Alfredo's (w/o package)
- Royal Afternoon Tea
- OceanMedallion Accessories
The Hollywood Conservatory is essentially a "Free Sanctuary." It has padded loungers, a pool, and great views. It's the best kept secret on the ship.
The Vibe Check
Is this ship for you? It is international, sophisticated, and slightly more reserved than Caribbean-based ships.
Elegant and culturally blended. You'll see karaoke rooms (a nod to its Asian roots) and bilingual signage. The dΓ©cor is slightly more opulent than other Royal Class ships.
Varies wildly by itinerary. In Alaska, it's families and retirees. In Australia, it's locals. It attracts a global passenger mix.

Cabin Recon
Princess cabins are known for their open closets (no doors) and excellent beds.
Deluxe Balcony
A slight upgrade from the standard balcony. It adds a small sofa sleeper, which is crucial if you want somewhere to sit other than the bed.
Mini-Suite
The sweet spot. Much larger bathroom with a bathtub and a distinct sitting area. Often priced competitively with balconies.
Reserve Collection
Formerly "Club Class." These Mini-Suites come with the best perk on the ship: exclusive dining with no wait times in a dedicated section of the dining room.
