Expedition hardware without compromising on comfort. Defined by Submarines and the Bow Lounge.

The Prodigy Verdict

Luxury without limits.

Seabourn Venture represents the brand's first dedicated expedition vessel. Unlike converted ships, this was built from the keel up for polar exploration with a PC6 ice-strengthened hull. It carries a 26-person expedition team, 24 Zodiacs, and two custom submarines. Despite the rugged exterior, the interior retains the Adam D. Tihany design elegance found on the rest of the fleet. It is intimate, incredibly inclusive, and designed for guests who want to see Antarctica without giving up their caviar and champagne.

Perfect For
  • Adventure seekers who refuse to compromise on thread count or dining quality.
  • Photography enthusiasts (the Bow Lounge offers incredible vantage points).
  • Solo travelers, as expedition voyages often attract a social, like-minded crowd.
Considerations
  • Motion is more noticeable on a 23,000-ton ship, especially in the Drake Passage.
  • Pace is active; early wake-up calls for Zodiac landings are the norm, not the exception.
  • Submarine dives are an extra cost and are weather-dependent.

The Hardware

The ship is designed to facilitate exploration. Most public spaces feature floor-to-ceiling glass to ensure you never miss a whale breach.

The Submarines

Two custom-built U-Boat Worx submersibles capable of diving 300 meters. They offer champagne toasts on the ocean floor. (Extra cost).

The Bow Lounge

Located forward on Deck 6. It provides close-to-water views and telemetry screens showing the ship's navigation data.

The Landing Zone

The "Mudroom." A spacious area where guests gear up for Zodiac runs. It features heated boot lockers and plenty of space to change.

Discovery Center

The lecture hall. Large enough to seat all guests at once for briefings and enrichment talks by the expedition team.

Seabourn Square

The "living room" of the ship. Combines a library, coffee bar, guest services, and lounge into one central social hub.

Infinity Pool

An aft-facing infinity pool and two hot tubs. A surreal spot to relax while watching icebergs drift away in the ship's wake.

Where It Sails

Seabourn Venture follows the ice. It spends winters in Antarctica and summers in the Arctic, with repositioning cruises hitting the Amazon or British Isles.

Focus: Polar Regions & Remote Islands
The Circuit
  • Antarctica & South Georgia
  • Svalbard, Greenland & Arctic
  • Amazon River & South Pacific
The Strategy

Itineraries are destination-focused. Expect Zodiac landings once or twice a day in polar regions. The ship's size allows it to enter fjords larger vessels cannot.

The Vibe Check

Is this ship for you? It is quiet, refined, and deeply educational.

Atmosphere

Country club meets National Geographic. Guests are generally well-traveled and interested in lectures on glaciology and wildlife. It is not a party ship.

Demographic

Typically older (50+), affluent couples and solo travelers. However, summer Arctic sailings see more multi-generational families.
