The Prodigy Verdict
Taste the World.
The Silver Moon refines the successful platform of the Silver Muse but adds a critical layer of immersion: S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste). This program integrates the dining venues with the itinerary, meaning the menu in the main restaurant changes daily to reflect the local port. It is an ultra-luxury ship where everything is included—tips, wifi, premium spirits, and caviar on demand. While small enough to dock in city centers, it feels spacious, with high ceilings and wide corridors that avoid the claustrophobia sometimes found on expedition vessels.
- Culinary Travelers: The S.A.L.T. program is arguably the best food-destination integration at sea.
- Luxury Purists: Guests who want butler service, walk-in closets, and no nickel-and-diming.
- Port Collectors: The ship's size allows it to visit smaller harbors inaccessible to mega-ships.
- Entertainment: Shows are low-key cabaret style; do not expect Broadway productions or high-tech stages.
- Nightlife: The ship gets quiet after 11 PM. It is designed for relaxation, not late-night partying.
- Formal Nights: Silversea retains traditional formal nights where tuxedos and dark suits are expected.
The Experience
The layout is intimate and residential. The focus is on quiet luxury, art, and conversation rather than high-octane attractions.
S.A.L.T. Lab
An interactive test kitchen where you don't just watch cooking demos—you cook regional dishes yourself under chef guidance.
Arts Café
A colorful, modern coffee shop and deli. The walls are lined with curated art (which changes by ship), and it's the social hub for daytime snacks.
Dolce Vita
The main lounge and bar. By day it is a quiet meeting spot; by night it features live piano music and excellent cocktails.
Observation Library
Located on Deck 11 forward. Offers panoramic views over the bow, radar screens to track navigation, and a curated selection of books.
Zagara Beauty Spa
A surprisingly large spa for a ship this size. Features floor-to-ceiling windows in the treatment rooms and an extensive thermal suite.
Connoisseur's Corner
An indoor/outdoor lounge dedicated to fine cognac and premium cigars. One of the few places where smoking is permitted in luxury.
Dining & Provisions
On Silversea, "Complimentary" is the standard. Only two venues have a cover charge. The focus is on S.A.L.T. and high-end ingredients.
S.A.L.T. Kitchen
Regional Cuisine
The menu changes daily based on the port. If you are in Naples, you eat Neapolitan. It is a genuine deep-dive into local flavor.
Atlantide
Steak & Seafood
The primary restaurant. Features red velvet seating and a menu of royal crab, blue lobster, and prime steaks. No reservations needed.
La Dame
French Fine Dining
The most formal venue. Features Lalique crystal panels and a bespoke menu of foie gras, soufflés, and French classics.
Kaiseki
Japanese
Included for lunch (sushi/sashimi). At dinner, it transforms into a teppanyaki-style grill with a cover charge.
La Terrazza
Italian
Buffet by day, authentic Italian by night. The pasta is made fresh daily on board. Features al fresco seating aft.
The Grill
Hot Rocks
An outdoor dinner experience where you cook your own steak or seafood on super-heated volcanic stones at your table.
Spaccanapoli
Neapolitan Pizza
Outdoor pizzeria on the top deck. Uses simple, high-quality ingredients and a proper pizza oven to create authentic pies.
Silver Note
Jazz & Tapas
A supper club atmosphere. Serves Peruvian-fusion small plates while live jazz and blues musicians perform.
Where It Sails
Silver Moon follows the sun, spending summers in the Mediterranean and winters in Asia, South America, or the Caribbean.
- Mediterranean Grand Voyages
- Asia & Japan Seasons
- Grand South America
Silversea itineraries are port-heavy. Expect long days in port and frequent overnight stays to allow for S.A.L.T. shore excursions.

Cabin Recon
Every room is a suite with a butler. There are no inside cabins. Even the entry level is luxurious.
Vista Suite
The only suites without a balcony (large picture window instead). They are spacious (334 sq ft) and include the same butler service as top tiers.
Classic Veranda
The "standard" room, located lower/mid-ship. It offers the best balance of price and location. Identical interior to Superior/Deluxe Verandas.
Silver Suite
A true one-bedroom apartment layout. Located midship, it features a separate dining area and is often the first category to sell out.
