The Prodigy Verdict
Luxury, Reoriented.
Silver Nova is a bold reimagining of the Silversea hardware. By moving the funnels and plumbing off-center, the designers created a horizontal layout that opens the ship entirely to the sea. The pool deck is the most obvious beneficiary, sitting off-center with unobstructed views. Inside, the focus is squarely on the S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program, which tailors menus, cocktails, and shore excursions to the specific port you are visiting. It is arguably the most cohesive culinary travel experience in the industry.
- Culinary Explorers: The S.A.L.T. Lab and Kitchen offer deep dives into local cuisine.
- Modernists: Travelers who prefer light, airy glass structures over dark wood paneling.
- Solitude Seekers: The passenger-to-space ratio is exceptionally high.
- The Pace: This is an ultra-luxury ship; nightlife is subdued and piano-bar focused.
- The Cost: High entry price, though it is inclusive of excursions, drinks, and Wi-Fi.
- Dress Code: "Formal Optional" nights still exist and are adhered to by many guests.
The Venues
Silver Nova feels like a horizontal floating resort. The primary flow moves along the side of the ship rather than down a central corridor.
The Pool Deck
The star of the show. Positioned asymmetrically on the starboard side, maximizing ocean views and sun exposure.
S.A.L.T. Lab
A professional test kitchen on the top deck. Guests join chefs to cook dishes native to the port of the day.
The Dusk Bar
An open-air bar at the stern. It offers 270-degree views and is the prime spot for sail-away cocktails.
Otium Spa
Inspired by ancient Roman baths. The focus here is on indulgence (champagne and chocolates) rather than medical aesthetics.
Venetian Lounge
The main theater. A two-story venue with cabaret-style seating. It feels intimate, hosting lectures by day and musical productions by night.
The Shelter
A new concept for Silversea. A sophisticated, pre-dinner champagne bar located near the main dining venues.
Dining & Provisions
Silversea is nearly all-inclusive. The dining is excellent, with a heavy emphasis on the "S.A.L.T." concept.
S.A.L.T. Kitchen
Regional Dining
The menu changes daily based on the port. It is the heart of the culinary program and offers authentic local flavors.
Atlantide
International
The classic "Main Dining Room" experience, elevated. Think red velvet, crystal, steak, and lobster.
La Dame
Fine French
The most formal venue. Features a tasting menu with wine pairings. The cover charge is significant (~$160pp) but includes premium wines.
The Marquee
Alfresco Grill
A beautiful covered outdoor space serving "The Grill" (hot rocks) and "Spaccanapoli" (authentic pizza) in a casual setting.
Kaiseki
Japanese
Complimentary sushi at lunch; extra-cost Omakase experience at dinner. A small, Zen-like venue.
Silver Note
Jazz & Tapas
A supper club inspired by Manhattan jazz bars. Serves small plates (tapas) while live musicians perform.
Where It Sails
Silver Nova is a globetrotter, sailing diverse routes from the glaciers of Alaska to the harbors of Sydney.
- Alaska (Summer)
- Asia & Japan (Spring/Fall)
- Australia & New Zealand (Winter)
The ship is designed for scenery. The asymmetrical pool deck and extensive glass make it ideal for Alaska and New Zealand fjord cruising.

Cost Reality
Silversea prices are high, but the "sticker shock" fades when you realize almost everything is included.
- Shore Excursions (Select)
- Premium Beverages
- Butler Service (All Cabins)
- Gratuities & Wi-Fi
- La Dame / Kaiseki Dinner
- S.A.L.T. Lab (Some Classes)
- Spa Treatments
- Ultra-Premium Spirits
Don't order a standard martini at the S.A.L.T. Bar. Ask for the "Port of the Day" cocktailβit often uses local ingredients sourced that morning.
The Vibe Check
Is this ship for you? It is quiet, refined, and deeply luxurious.
Residential whisper-luxury. You won't find pool games or loud music. You will find afternoon tea, lectures, and quiet conversation.
Well-traveled, older affluent couples (55+). However, the modern design of Nova is attracting a slightly younger luxury demographic.

Cabin Recon
Every room is a suite, and every suite has a butler. The horizontal layout means many suites have wider layouts than traditional ships.
Veranda Suite
Even the "entry" level is a suite with a walk-in closet, marble bathroom, and full butler service. It sets a very high bar.
Medallion Suite
Spacious (527 sq ft) with a distinct living area. The extra width makes it feel like a true apartment rather than a ship cabin.
Otium Suite
The pinnacle. Located aft with a massive wrap-around balcony featuring its own private Jacuzzi. 1,300+ sq ft of pure indulgence.
