Azamara
Change The Way You Sea
The destination specialist. Azamara operates a uniform fleet of boutique ships designed to access the world’s most secluded harbors through extended port stays.
The Mission:
Stay Longer. Experience More.
Azamara’s mission is fundamentally different from the "floating resort" model. Their operational strategy—Destination Immersion—prioritizes late-night departures and overnight stays in nearly every port of call. This allows guests to experience the nightlife, local dining, and culture of a city in a way that standard 8-to-5 port schedules do not permit.
The line maintains a mid-tier luxury position, focusing on a convivial, country-club atmosphere. By operating smaller, uniform vessels, they can navigate narrow waterways and dock in the heart of cities like Seville, Bordeaux, and Venice, where larger ships are relegated to industrial ports miles away.
"The 'AzAmazing Evenings' program is a core operational pillar, featuring a complimentary, private bespoke cultural event for guests at a historic venue on every sailing of seven nights or longer."
Target: The Destination Seeker
Travelers who view the ship as a premium hotel and the port as the main event. Ideal for those who value overnights in cities like Amalfi or St. Tropez.
Target: The Intimate Cruiser
With roughly 700 guests per ship, Azamara targets travelers who prefer a social, small-ship environment where crew and guests often recognize one another by name.
Value Proposition
Inclusive amenities including standard spirits, beers, wines, gratuities, and self-service laundry—providing a seamless, low-friction onboard experience.

Engineering Profile
The R-Class Platform
Azamara's entire fleet is built on the storied R-Class platform. These ships are widely considered some of the most successful boutique designs in maritime history. Their engineering is optimized for port accessibility; they are small enough to utilize city-center docks while large enough to maintain stability in open-ocean crossings.
Shallow Draft Accessibility
With a draft of only 5.95 meters (19.5 feet), Azamara vessels can navigate waterways that are off-limits to 90% of the modern cruise fleet. This shallow draft is the technical prerequisite for their "River-to-Sea" itineraries, allowing them to sail up the Guadalquivir River to the heart of Seville, Spain.
2024 Technical Modernization
The fleet recently underwent a 2024 technical refresh to upgrade propulsion efficiency and environmental compliance. This included the installation of advanced wastewater treatment systems and hull coatings designed to reduce drag, ensuring these classic vessels meet the stringent Tier III emission standards required for modern European deployment.
