So for a proper lunch or a beach club on the French side, use a card; keep the dollar notes for small stuff. It is worth knowing why the two halves behave so differently: crossing that unmarked road takes you from Sint Maarten, which is outside the EU, into Saint-Martin, which is an EU outermost region.

Are the jumbo jets still landing over Maho Beach?
