The Harbor:

Sydney has TWO terminals and the Harbour Bridge decides yours. Ships too tall for its 49m clearance dock at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT), in the heart of the city; mid-size ships pass under to White Bay, 6km out. Set by ship size, not brand—check your documents.

The best-value harbor cruise is an ordinary commuter ferry: the F1 from Circular Quay Wharf 3 reaches Manly in 30 minutes for about A$8 on Opal—past the Opera House and out toward the Heads, where a surf beach waits.

Getting Back to Your Ship: The Work-Backwards Method
Golden Rule:
Your Sydney return risk is set by which terminal you sail from. From the OPT you can cut it close—you’re in the middle of the city. From White Bay you’re 6km and an A$40+ taxi away, and the stand clogs when 2,000 passengers board at once. Judge your return from your actual terminal, never from “the city.”
