The Prodigy Verdict

The 305 at Sea.

Sailing from Miami, the Celebration leans heavily into its homeport's aesthetic. It is the second ship in the Excel class (following Mardi Gras) and trades the French Quarter for "The Gateway"โ€”a travel-themed zone that feels more like an upscale train station than a cruise ship hall. It is massive, colorful, and packed with people. If you want a quiet, intimate voyage, this isn't it. But if you want the best fast-casual food at sea and a rollercoaster on the top deck, Celebration delivers.

Perfect For
  • Active families (BOLT coaster is a winner)
  • Burger & Chicken enthusiasts (Guy's + Shaq's)
  • Groups who need constant entertainment
Considerations
  • Ideal if you enjoy high energy environments
  • Be prepared for crowds in main thoroughfares
  • Quiet, dedicated library spaces are limited

The Zones

Distinct neighborhoods define the flow of this 180,000-ton beast.

The Gateway

Unique to Celebration. A 2-deck high zone themed around travel, featuring "Latitudes" bar with its vintage split-flap departure board.

820 Biscayne

The Miami tribute zone. Replaces "La Piazza". Think neon, art deco, and Cuban-inspired snacks at Bar 820.

Ultimate Playground

Home to BOLT. Pro tip: Ride it while in port for a better view, or at sea for the wind factor. It costs extra, but do it once.

Celebration Central

The heartbeat of the ship. A three-deck atrium featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, the Aquaria Bar, and live entertainment.

Summer Landing

The aft relaxation spot. Features an infinity pool, Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse, and the Heroes Tribute Lounge.

Lido

The poolside epicenter. Home to the RedFrog Tiki Bar, BlueIguana, and the main pool. It gets loud and busy on sea days.

Serenity

Adults only (21+). Located forward, offering sunbeds, a dedicated bar, and a salad station. A crucial escape from the noise.

Cloud 9 Spa

A massive wellness complex with thermal suites and thalassotherapy pools. Passes are sold by the day or voyage.

Dining & Provisions

Carnival is the king of "free" food. You can easily ignore the specialty dining and still eat like royalty.

Included

Big Chicken

Shaq's Joint

Located aft on Lido. The sandwiches are massive and crispy. Breakfast biscuits here are a hidden gem.

Included

Guy's Burger Joint

The Classic

Plain and simple, the best burgers at sea. Expect lines, but they move fast. Try the "Ringer" with onion rings.

Included

Miami Slice

Elevated Pizza

A huge upgrade from standard cruise pizza. Open late, offering authentic dough and creative toppings.

Included

Street Eats

Lido Snacking

Three stalls: Time Fries, Steam Dream, and Mad Sizzle. Small bites with big flavor, perfect for pool snacking.

Extra Cost

Bonsai Teppanyaki

Dinner Show

A full hibachi performance. It is popular and loud. Reservations are absolutely essential on this ship.

Extra Cost

Emeril's Bistro 1397

A La Carte

Located in The Gateway. Authentic New Orleans flavors like gumbo and jambalaya. Great for a casual paid lunch.

Extra Cost

Rudi's Seagrill

Upscale Seafood

Created by Master Chef Rudi Sodamin. The "face plates" are Instagram famous, and the lobster is excellent.

Included

BlueIguana

Lido Deck

Fresh tacos and burritos with a massive salsa bar. The breakfast burritos are arguably the best way to start a port day.

Where It Sails

Celebration is loyal to Miami, running 7-day loops year-round.

Deployment Focus: 2026 - 2027
The Schedule
  • Homeport: Miami, FL
  • 7-Night Eastern Caribbean
  • 7-Night Western Caribbean
The Stops

Expect staples like Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), San Juan (Puerto Rico), and St. Thomas. It is a greatest hits album of the Caribbean.

Cost Reality

The base fare is low, but the "optional" extras add up.

  • Main Dining Rooms
  • Serenity Adults-Only Retreat
  • Ropes Course & Mini Golf
Extra Costs
  • BOLT Rollercoaster (~$15)

Prodigy Tip

Drink Package Math: If you drink 6+ alcoholic beverages a day, the CHEERS! package breaks even. Note that everyone in the cabin must buy it.

The Vibe Check

Is this ship for you? It is the definition of "Fun Ship" branding.

Atmosphere

High Octane. Pool decks are loud, bars are busy, and the atrium hosts massive parties. Not for those seeking a meditative retreat.

Demographic

Families, couples, and groups of friends. It is a melting pot. You'll see tuxedos on elegant night and swimsuits in the buffet.

Cabin Recon

Standard rooms are functional, but the "Specialty Zones" offer distinct perks.

Look for "Family Harbor" or "Havana".
Value

Cove Balcony

Located closer to the waterline on Deck 5. These offer a unique, close-to-the-ocean view and more privacy than higher balconies.

Prodigy Pick

Family Harbor

A dedicated zone with its own lounge offering free breakfast/snacks and board games. A lifesaver for parents needing a "third place" outside the cabin.

Top Tier

Carnival Excel Suite

Comes with access to Loft 19, a private retreat area with nicer loungers and cabana access. Essential if you want to escape the main pool crowds.
