The Prodigy Verdict
The Texas Titan.
The Jubilee is the third in the Excel class, following the Mardi Gras and Celebration. These ships represent a pivotal shift for Carnival: they are LNG-powered, massive, and zoned like a theme park. Jubilee specifically caters to the Texan market with localized touches and a distinct "Currents" zone that explores the underwater world. While the hardware is impressive, be warned: this ship runs at full throttle. It is not for the claustrophobic or those seeking silence.
- Multi-gen families (something for everyone)
- Casual foodies (best fast-casual at sea)
- High-energy travelers who bore easily
- Crowd density is high at peak times
- Environment is acoustically energetic
- Dining is casual rather than formal
The Zones
Carnival divides this massive hull into "Zones" to manage crowd flow.
Currents
Unique to Jubilee. An immersive underwater-themed zone with massive LED screens acting as "windows" to the ocean.
Ultimate Playground
Home to BOLT, the rollercoaster at sea. It costs extra (~$15), but riding a coaster 18 decks above the ocean is a thrill.
Grand Central
The side-facing atrium. Instead of a vertical shaft, it's a 3-deck glass wall overlooking the sea. It doubles as a theater at night.
The Shores
Jubilee's answer to the boardwalk. A beach-themed promenade featuring pizza, sandwiches, and indoor-outdoor lounging.
Lido
The epicenter of sun. Expect a two-story pool deck, massive movie screen, and the famous RedFrog Tiki Bar.
Summer Landing
The aft relaxation zone. Home to the Heroes Tribute Lounge, a specialized infinity pool, and Guy's Pig & Anchor.
Cloud 9 Spa
A dedicated wellness zone forward. Features a massive thermal suite with heated loungers and a thalassotherapy pool.
Family Harbor
A dedicated lower-deck zone for families with a private lounge, breakfast buffet, and nautical-themed cabins.
Dining & Provisions
Carnival excels at "Included Casual." You can eat incredibly well here without spending a dime extra.
Big Chicken
Shaq's Joint
Shaquille O'Neal's chicken spot. The "M.D.E." (Most Dominant Ever) sandwich is genuinely one of the best items on the ship.
Guy's Burger Joint
Lido Deck
The gold standard for cruise burgers. On Jubilee, the venue is huge to handle the 6,000+ guests. Expect a line, but it moves fast.
BlueIguana Cantina
Mexican
Fresh tacos and burritos made to order. The breakfast burritos here are a cult favorite and often beat the main buffet.
Pig & Anchor
BBQ Smokehouse
Real wood-smoked BBQ. On Excel-class ships like Jubilee, the Smokehouse lunch is complimentary (and excellent).
Emeril's Bistro 717
Creole / Seafood
Specific to Jubilee. A la carte pricing for beignets, jambalaya, and fresh seafood. Located in the Currents zone.
Fahrenheit 555
Steakhouse
The quintessential upscale steakhouse. Premium cuts, lobster, and a quiet atmosphere away from the madness.
Rudi's Seagrill
Seafood
Chef Rudi Sodamin's seafood masterpiece. Whimsical presentation meets high-quality shellfish and grilled fish.
Bonsai Teppanyaki
Interactive
Performance dining at its most energetic. Chefs cook at your table with tricks and jokes. Reservations essential.
Where It Sails
Jubilee is a Texas resident. She doesn't move around.
- Homeport: Galveston, TX
- 7-Night Western Caribbean
- Year-Round Rotation
Expect the classic "Western Run": Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan (Mahogany Bay). It is consistent, sunny, and beach-focused.

Cost Reality
The "Base Fare" is often cheap, but Carnival is expert at monetization once onboard.
- Guy's Burgers & BlueIguana
- Shaq's Big Chicken
- Main Dining Room
- Comedy Club (Punchliner)
- BOLT Rollercoaster (~$15)
- Emeril's Bistro 717
- Rudi's Seagrill
- Bonsai Teppanyaki
Crowd Hack: Use the "Street Eats" stalls near the pool for lunch. They are often ignored by the masses flocking to the buffet.
The Vibe Check
Is this ship for you? It is an unapologetic, high-energy mega resort.
Loud & Proud. From the atrium parties to the pool deck DJs, silence is rare. It is designed to be stimulating.
Diverse and Multi-Generational. You will see toddlers, teens, parents, and grandparents. It is a true "everyman" vacation.

Cabin Recon
Jubilee offers standard cabins, but the "specialty" zones offer the best experience.
Standard Interior
Modern and functional, but compact. Good if you plan to spend 0% of your time in the room.
Havana Cabana
Located on Deck 8. These come with a private patio and, crucially, exclusive access to the Havana Pool areaโan oasis away from the main crowds.
Excel Presidential Suite
The largest suite on board with a massive wrap-around balcony and access to Loft 19 (the private retreat area).
