The Prodigy Verdict
The Gold Standard.
Celebrity Equinox holds a special place in the fleet. In 2019, she received a massive "Revolution" upgrade, aligning her stateroom interiors and public spaces with the newer Edge Series. Unlike Reflection, Equinox retains the Hot Glass Show on the lawn, which many traditionalists prefer over the grill restaurant. She feels surprisingly modern for her age.
- First-time Celebrity cruisers (it's the best introduction)
- Couples seeking a balanced 7+ night itinerary
- Craft beer lovers (thanks to "Craft Social")
- It lacks the "Magic Carpet" and "Eden" of the Edge Class.
- The Persian Garden is internal (no windows), unlike on Edge ships.
The Zones
The layout is intuitive, flowing from the top-deck lawn down to the energetic Grand Foyer.
Hot Glass Show
A real glassblowing studio on the top deck lawn. Watch master artisans from the Corning Museum of Glass create art at sea.
Craft Social
Added during the revolution. A gastropub serving rare craft beers, wines on tap, and elevated bar bites like truffle fries.
Solarium
The glass-enclosed, adults-only pool deck. Featuring a lap pool, plush loungers, and waterfalls. It is climate-controlled serenity.
Martini Bar
The ice-topped bar in the Grand Foyer. It comes alive at night with flair bartenders and DJ sets. The visual center of the ship.
The Retreat
Upgraded in 2019 to include a dedicated Sun Deck. Suite guests now have a private outdoor sanctuary, lounge, and restaurant.
The Library
Not just a room, but a vertical architectural marvel spanning two decks. A quiet, stunning space to read or work.
Sky Lounge
The massive forward observation lounge. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer the best views for entering port or stargazing.
Persian Garden
The heated thermal suite. While it lacks the exterior views of the Edge class, it remains a favorite for its heated tile beds.
Dining & Provisions
A balanced mix. The free dining is excellent, lessening the pressure to buy specialty packages.
Silhouette Dining
Main Dining
The grand, two-story dining room centered around a glass wine tower. Service is traditional, and the menu rotates nightly.
Oceanview Café
The Buffet
Widely considered the best buffet at sea. Features a made-to-order pasta station, fresh pizza, and extensive global options.
Mast Grill
Poolside
No charge for burgers and hot dogs by the pool. Simple, effective, and crucial for a quick lunch without changing out of swimwear.
Blu
Clean Cuisine
Exclusive to AquaClass. A dedicated restaurant focusing on lighter, "clean" preparations. Open for breakfast and dinner.
Murano
French Continental
Celebrity's flagship specialty dining. Classic service, lobster prepared tableside, and an upscale, romantic atmosphere.
Tuscan Grille
Italian Steakhouse
Located aft with stunning wake views. Known for homemade pastas, butcher cuts, and limoncello.
Sushi on Five
Japanese
A la carte pricing makes this a flexible option. Excellent sashimi, rolls, and Japanese craft beers in a casual setting.
Le Petit Chef
Immersive
Located in Qsine. An animated 3D chef prepares your meal on your plate. It's a set menu and a fun, family-friendly show.
Where It Sails
Equinox is a staple of the Caribbean, often sailing longer routes than her sister ships.
- ABC Islands (Aruba/Bonaire/Curacao)
- Eastern Caribbean (St. Thomas/St. Maarten)
Equinox routes are designed for sun-seekers. The 9+ night Southern Caribbean itineraries are particularly popular with repeat cruisers.

Cost Reality
Because Equinox is older but refurbished, it often offers a "sweet spot" value proposition.
- Silhouette Dining Room (MDR)
- Oceanview Cafe (Buffet)
- Mast Grill & Spa Cafe
- Pastries at Cafe al Bacio
- Specialty Dining (Murano, Tuscan, etc.)
- Persian Garden Pass (unless AquaClass)
- Alcohol (unless in "All Included" pkg)
- Gratuities
The Oceanview Café on this ship is exceptional. Don't feel pressured to buy a dining package; the free pasta station and pizza bar are top-tier.
The Vibe Check
Equinox strikes a balance between "classic cruising" and "modern chic."
The real grass lawn changes everything. It creates a country club vibe on the top deck that feels open and airy, never claustrophobic.
Couples (40s-60s) dominate. You'll see fewer families than on Royal Caribbean, but more than on Holland America. It's sophisticated but not stuffy.

Cabin Recon
The 2019 "Revolution" updated the soft goods (carpets, curtains, bedding) to match the modern grey/cream Edge palette.
Veranda Stateroom
Classic layout with a true, open-air balcony. The refresh made these rooms feel much larger and brighter than their original 2009 decor.
Sunset Veranda
Located at the very aft of the ship. These rooms offer panoramic wake views and generally larger balconies than standard side cabins.
Sky Suite
The entry into "The Retreat." Now includes access to the new forward Sun Deck, Michael's Club lounge, and Luminae dining.
