The Prodigy Verdict
Royal Class, Corrected.
The Sky Princess represents the pivotal moment when Princess perfected the Royal Class blueprint. It addressed the primary complaints of its predecessors (Royal/Regal Princess) by restoring the mid-ship stairwells and expanding the pool deck count. It introduced the massive "Sky Suites"βcabins with the largest balconies in the fleetβand "Take Five," the only dedicated jazz lounge at sea. It balances the elegance of the Piazza with the modern utility of Medallion Class technology.
- Couples seeking a romantic, less frenetic atmosphere.
- Jazz enthusiasts (Take Five is a genuine standout venue).
- Travelers who prefer "traditional" cruising with modern amenities.
- Pool Deck: While improved, the main pool deck can still feel dense on sea days.
- App Reliance: To get the most out of the experience (ordering drinks anywhere), you must use the Medallion app.
- Nightlife: This is not a "party ship" in the style of Carnival; evenings wind down earlier.
The Zones
The layout is centered around the Piazza, with entertainment radiating outward.
The Piazza
The three-story golden atrium. It is the social hub of the ship, hosting everything from string quartets to champagne waterfalls.
Take Five
A unique venue to the newer Royal Class ships. A dedicated jazz lounge with a speakeasy vibe, custom cocktails, and nightly live trios.
The Sanctuary
The adults-only retreat forward. Features plush loungers, "spa water," and afternoon tea. It carries a half-day or full-day fee.
The Enclave
The largest thermal suite in the Princess fleet. Features a hydrotherapy pool, hammam, caldarium, and heated stone beds.
The SeaWalk
A glass-floor walkway extending 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship. Offers vertigo-inducing views of the ocean 128 feet below.
Movies Under Stars
The pool deck transforms at night with blankets and popcorn for open-air cinema on the massive LED screen.
Princess Live!
A TV-studio style venue. Hosts game shows, trivia, and interactive events that are broadcast to staterooms.
Wake View Bar
Located aft on the pool deck. A fantastic spot for sail-aways, offering unobstructed views of the wake.
Dining & Provisions
Princess is known for solid complimentary dining, but the specialty options on Sky Princess (specifically the French bistro) are worth the upgrade.
International CafΓ©
24-Hour Bistro
The best complimentary coffee spot at sea (the food is free, specialty coffee costs extra). Famous for its almond croissants and chicken salad.
Main Dining
3 Venues
Soleil, Estrella, and Cielo dining rooms. Princess offers "Dine My Way," allowing you to reserve any time you want via the app.
World Fresh
Marketplace Buffet
The main buffet on Deck 16. It features a massive layout with distinct stations, reducing lines. The "Pastry Shop" area is a highlight.
Alfredo's Pizzeria
Sit-Down Pizza
A full-service restaurant serving gourmet personal pizzas. *Often carries a cover charge unless you have the Princess Plus/Premier package.
Crown Grill
Steakhouse
The quintessential Princess specialty venue. Dark woods, open kitchen, and premium beef chops. Highly recommended for a celebration.
Bistro Sur La Mer
French Bistro
A casual French bistro concept created by 3-Michelin star chef Emmanuel Renaut. Offers escargot, seafood stews, and quirky design.
Sabatini's
Italian Trattoria
Handmade pastas and authentic courses. The burrata here is legendary.
Ocean Terrace
Sushi Bar
Located on the balcony overlooking the Piazza. Fresh sushi and sashimi with a view of the entertainment below.
Where It Sails
Sky Princess splits its time between Caribbean winters and European summers, often sailing from Southampton.
- 7-Day Eastern/Western Caribbean
- Norway & Fjords (from UK)
- Spain & France (from UK)
The Southampton sailings are incredibly popular with the UK market. If you are American, these offer a very easy way to see Northern Europe without multiple flights.

Cost Reality
Princess offers "Standard" fares (cruise only), but the "Plus" and "Premier" packages offer significant value bundling.
- Main Dining & Buffet
- International CafΓ© (Food)
- Basic MedallionService
- Slice Pizzeria (Poolside)
- Specialty Dining (Crown Grill)
- Alfredo's (Cover charge*)
- The Sanctuary (Half/Full Day)
- The Enclave (Thermal Suite)
Don't sleep on the "Slice" pizzeria on the pool deck. It's complimentary (unlike Alfredo's) and serves excellent Neapolitan-style slices all day.
The Vibe Check
Is this ship for you? It is the classic "Modern Premium" experience.
Relaxed, elegant, and comfortable. You won't find rock climbing walls or go-karts. You will find live jazz, wine tasting, and Movies Under the Stars.
Couples and multi-generational families. It attracts a slightly calmer crowd than Royal Caribbean, but still has plenty of energy in the Piazza.

Cabin Recon
The Sky Princess debuted the Sky Suites, but the standard Mini-Suite remains the sweet spot for most travelers.
Interior
A great option on this class because you will spend most of your time in the beautiful public areas. Efficient and comfortable for sleeping.
Mini-Suite
Significantly larger than a standard balcony, featuring a sitting area with a sofa and a bathroom with a bathtub (rare at this price point).
Sky Suite
The ultimate splurge. Features a 1,000 sq. ft. continuous balcony (largest at sea) and 270-degree views from the top deck. Hosting parties here is encouraged.
