The Prodigy Verdict
The Love Boat 2.0.
The Star Princess is the second vessel in the revolutionary Sphere Class. It departs radically from previous Princess ships by embracing light and outward-facing views. The iconic "Sphere" midship piazza brings natural light into the heart of the ship for the first time. Crucially, Star Princess rectifies the layout quirks of its predecessor, Sun Princess, and fully integrates the new "Sanctuary Collection"—a comprehensive ship-within-a-ship concept that finally gives Princess a true luxury enclave to rival The Haven and Yacht Club.
- Traditional cruisers wanting modern hardware (Sphere Piazza).
- Luxury travelers (The Sanctuary Collection is a massive upgrade).
- Multi-generational groups (Park 19 offers real teen appeal).
- Packages: The "Premier" package is almost mandatory to unlock the best value.
- Crowd Flow: The Eatery (buffet) can get tight at peak times; use the main dining room for breakfast.
- New Tech: The ship relies heavily on the Medallion app for everything.
The Spheres
The ship is defined by spherical glass structures that bring the ocean views inside.
The Sphere
The architectural heart of the ship. A multi-deck glass piazza that floods the interior with sunlight. It hosts live music and impromptu performances.
The Dome
Located forward on the top deck. Inspired by Santorini, this glass-enclosed space is a pool deck by day and an acrobatic stage show venue by night.
Sanctuary Club
The exclusive top-deck retreat. Now reserved for Sanctuary Collection guests (suites/mini-suites), offering private pool access and luxury lounging.
Park 19
The family activity zone. Features the "Sea Breeze" glider ride (overhead track), a splash area, and ropes course elements.
Princess Arena
The main theater. It is a configurable "in-the-round" venue, allowing for more immersive production shows than a traditional proscenium stage.
Princess Casino
Featuring the largest casino floor in the fleet and the "Buffalo Zone"—a dedicated area for the popular slot machine brand.
Spellbound
An immersive magic experience created with the Magic Castle. Combines theatrical cocktails with close-up magic in a hidden venue.
Wake View Terrace
An aft deck oasis with an infinity pool and bar. Offers some of the best unobstructed ocean views on the entire ship.
Dining & Provisions
A balanced mix of complimentary classics and high-end experiential dining. The separation of "Casual" vs "Specialty" is key here.
Horizons Dining
Main Dining Room
A massive three-story dining venue aft. Offers traditional fixed seating and flexible dining options with impressive wake views.
The Eatery
Modern Buffet
A food-hall style buffet on Deck 9. Offers distinct stations rather than one long line, improving flow and food quality.
International Café
24-Hour Bistro
The legendary Princess staple. Located in the Piazza, serving complimentary pastries, sandwiches, and salads 24 hours a day.
Alfredo's Pizzeria
Sit-Down Pizza
Named "Best Pizza at Sea" by USA Today. *Note: Fixed price or free with Plus/Premier packages.
Crown Grill
Steakhouse
Princess' signature premium steakhouse. Features an open kitchen and top-tier cuts of beef. A must for at least one night.
Sabatini's
Italian Trattoria
Handmade pastas and authentic Italian courses. The Sphere Class version features a modern, airy design.
The Catch by Rudi
Seafood
Created by Chef Rudi Sodamin. A celebration of seafood featuring whimsical "food face" plates and fresh catches.
The Butcher's Block
By Dario Cecchini
A carnivore's dream. A family-style dining experience curated by the world's most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini.
Where It Sails
Star Princess debuts in the Mediterranean before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale for Caribbean winter seasons.
- 7-Day Eastern/Western Caribbean
- Mediterranean & Greek Isles
- Transatlantic Crossings
Princess Cays (private island) is a staple stop on Caribbean routes. The European itineraries are heavily port-focused, leveraging the ship's speed.

- Main Dining & Eatery
- International Café (Food)
- Shows in Princess Arena
- Basic MedallionService
- Specialty Dining (Crown Grill)
- Casual Dining (Alfredo's)*
- Sanctuary Club Access*

The Vibe Check
Is this ship for you? It is elegant, airy, and more relaxed than its competitors.
Less "theme park," more "floating resort." The design favors glass, light woods, and ocean views over neon lights and water slides.
Skews slightly older than Royal Caribbean or Carnival, but the Sphere Class is attracting younger couples and families thanks to Park 19.
